    Modular Organization
After our Top 10: Modern Free-Standing Coat Racks post last week, we've refocused our coat rack search to more space-saving wall-mounted options like the UtiliTILE from Thout Design. Different tiles are responsible for different function from a row of hooks to key and shoe storage...

THOUT would like to thank everyone who stopped by the booth at the ICFF. Here's some recent press:

"...The HoleyStump by Canadian collective Thout Design brings a little comfort (immediate access to a beer can) from the indoors all the way to the great wide open."

    -Metropolis Magazine

"...Pendants are moving on from the straightforward hang to the maximalist object, all lit up with a perfect dose of humor."

    -Metropolis Magazine

"...the Canadian firm Thout Design paired a red maple table with powder-blue log stools that had a hole for stashing a beer."

    -L.A. Times

"Deck the walls! That's the phrase that came to mind as we entered the booth of ICFF newbie Thout Design. This just-launched Canadian design group was showing their UtiliTILEs, a line of beautiful, functional wall panels that make the most of small spaces, particularly small or narrow landing strips, with compact open storage for everything from keys to coats to cutlery. We loved the fold-out wall hook panels, above, which is not a new idea but is executed so beautifully by Thout that it even looks good with coats-a-hanging. But our fave was this amusing silverware storage tile. Designer Patrick Turner says it was a re-channeling of the impulse to hurl knives at the wall. Chalk one up for anger management."
